ITINERARY

Departure from Cusco to Lares
Depart early from Cusco by private transport, heading toward the village of Lares (approx. 3.5 hours). Upon arrival, relax in the hot springs of Lares and enjoy a delicious lunch by the thermal pools.

Hike to Huacawasi
Begin the trek to Huacawasi, a picturesque Andean community where you’ll set up camp for the night. Along the way, marvel at stunning valleys, towering peaks, and serene landscapes.

Ascent to Ipsay Pass
Begin the challenging ascent to Ipsay Pass (4,400 meters), the highest point of the trek. Enjoy incredible views of snow-capped peaks and pristine mountain lakes. Stop for a scenic lunch by Ipsaycocha Lagoon.

Descent to Patacancha
After lunch, descend to the valley of Patacancha, a traditional Andean village known for its weaving culture. Spend the night camping near the community, interacting with locals and learning about their ancient textile techniques.

Hike to Ollantaytambo
Descend through picturesque valleys, passing ancient terraces and small villages. Arrive in Ollantaytambo, a living Inca town with impressive ruins and vibrant culture.

Train to Aguas Calientes
Board the train to Aguas Calientes, the gateway to Machu Picchu. Check into a comfortable hotel and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant to prepare for the next day’s exploration of Machu Picchu.

Guided Visit to Machu Picchu
At dawn, take the bus up to Machu Picchu for a guided tour of the world-famous citadel. Spend 2–3 hours exploring its key landmarks, including the Temple of the Sun, the Intihuatana Stone, and the agricultural terraces.

Free Time and Return to Cusco
After the tour, enjoy free time to explore Machu Picchu further or relax in one of its scenic viewpoints. Descend to Aguas Calientes for lunch before taking the train back to Ollantaytambo. A private transfer will take you back to Cusco, arriving in the evening.
