ITINERARY

Early Departure from Cusco

Begin your adventure early in the morning with a private transport from Cusco to the Ollantaytambo train station. From there, take a scenic train ride to Km 104, the starting point of the Short Inca Trail.

Start of the Hike at Km 104

Begin your hike towards Wiñay Wayna, one of the most beautiful archaeological sites along the trail. The hike offers panoramic views of mountains, rivers, and diverse Andean flora.

Wiñay Wayna: A Stunning Archaeological Site

Explore Wiñay Wayna, a complex of terraces and stone structures clinging to a mountainside. After an insightful visit and a boxed lunch, continue your trek to Machu Picchu.

Arrival at the Sun Gate (Inti Punku)

Reach the Sun Gate (Inti Punku), where you’ll get your first awe-inspiring view of Machu Picchu at sunset. After a short rest and time for photos, descend to Aguas Calientes, where you’ll stay overnight at a comfortable hotel.

Guided Tour of Machu Picchu

Early in the morning, take the bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu. Enjoy a guided tour of the ancient city, visiting iconic sites such as the Temple of the Sun, the Main Plaza, and the Agricultural Terraces. Learn about the fascinating history and culture of the Incas.

Free Time in Machu Picchu

After the guided tour, explore the site at your own pace. You may opt to hike Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain for additional views (advance reservation required).

Return to Aguas Calientes and Train to Cusco

Descend by bus to Aguas Calientes for lunch before boarding the train back to Ollantaytambo. From there, a private transport will return you to Cusco, arriving between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m.
