ITINERARY
Early Departure from Cusco
The tour begins at 4:00 a.m. with a pick-up from Cusco in a tourist vehicle. The approximately 3-hour drive offers stunning views of Andean landscapes as we make our way to the trailhead.
Breakfast Along the Way
Before starting the trek, we’ll stop at a local village to enjoy a traditional breakfast, giving you the energy needed for the hike to Vinicunca.
Hike to Rainbow Mountain
From the trailhead at approximately 4,600 meters (15,091 feet) above sea level, we begin our trek. The hike to Rainbow Mountain takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on the group’s pace. Along the way, you’ll witness snow-capped peaks, expansive valleys, and traditional herds of llamas and alpacas.
Arrival at Rainbow Mountain
At the summit, situated at 5,200 meters (17,060 feet) above sea level, you’ll be rewarded with an incredible view of Rainbow Mountain. Enjoy time to rest, take photos, and marvel at the vibrant, mineral-streaked slopes.
Descent and Lunch
After soaking in the scenery, we’ll begin our descent back to the trailhead, followed by a short drive to a local restaurant for a buffet lunch featuring Andean specialties.
Return to Cusco
After lunch, we head back to Cusco, arriving between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m.
