ITINERARY

Arrival in Cusco
We will welcome you at Cusco airport and transfer you to your hotel. The first day is dedicated to resting and acclimating to the altitude (3,400 meters), especially if it’s your first time in the Andes. Drinking coca tea is recommended to ease adaptation.

Free Afternoon to Explore Cusco
You’ll have the afternoon free to explore Cusco at your own pace. Stroll through the historic center, visit local markets, or simply enjoy the city’s charm. This is an excellent opportunity to prepare physically and mentally for the upcoming adventures.

Early Departure from Cusco
We’ll pick you up from your hotel around 4:30 a.m. to start the journey to Vinicunca, also known as Rainbow Mountain. The private transport ride takes approximately 3 hours, passing through Andean villages and stunning landscapes.

Hike to Rainbow Mountain
We’ll begin the hike from Quesiuno (4,600 meters) with a gradual ascent lasting about 1.5 to 2 hours. As you climb, the colors of the mountain will slowly emerge. Upon reaching the summit at 5,200 meters, you’ll be rewarded with spectacular views of the natural rainbow-like stripes and the majestic Ausangate Glacier, the highest mountain in Cusco.

Time for Photos and Rest
Once at the top, you’ll have time to take photos and soak in the views. Your guide will share insights into the geology and spiritual significance of the mountain.

Return to Cusco
After a gentle descent, we’ll take our transport back to Cusco, arriving between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m.

Departure from Cusco to Soraypampa
We leave early (around 5:00 a.m.) in private transport to Soraypampa (3,900 meters), the starting point for the trek to Humantay Lake. The drive takes approximately 2.5 hours, offering stunning mountain views along the way.

Hike to Humantay Lake
From Soraypampa, we begin the uphill trek to Humantay Lake, nestled at the base of Salkantay Glacier. The hike lasts about 1.5 hours with a steep ascent, but the views along the way and at the lake make the effort worthwhile. The turquoise lake, surrounded by snow-capped peaks, provides a breathtaking setting.

Time at Humantay Lake
You’ll have time to rest, take photos, and enjoy the serene landscape. If desired, you can participate in a guided meditation to connect with the energy of nature at this sacred site.

Return to Cusco
After enjoying the lake, we’ll descend to Soraypampa, where our transport will take us back to Cusco, arriving between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m.
